One Pot Galley Gourmet Perfect for Busy People/Boaters

The newly released One Pot Galley Gourmet, by Becky Coffield, is already rapidly sailing into kitchens everywhere. The book, written specifically for people who don’t have the time, or the interest, to spend all day preparing a meal, has sold out for the last two years at the  Seattle Boat Show.
One Pot Galley Gourmet follows closely on the heels of Coffield’s first venture into the cookbook genre with You Can Conquer TMJ: Ideas and Recipes.  “So many people who didn’t even have TMJ bought the cookbook for the easy-to-prepare, nutritious recipes,” Coffield said. “So I decided to make a cookbook specifically for those individuals. The new book is less expensive to produce than the TMJ book, and I added special notations throughout for boaters, plus a section on bread baking recipes.”
Besides having notations, bread baking recipes, and ideas for boaters, Coffield’s book still has the same tidbits of  nutritional information and other humorous anecdotes as her first collection of recipes, plus it contains a delightful story about the origins of “Mud Bottom Cake.” While most recipes are hearty and nutritious, think exquisite also, with recipes like Lemon Chicken Linguini and Salmon Fettuccini,
Currently One Pot Galley Gourmet (published by Moonlight Mesa Associates,
ISBN 978-0977459421) is available only from www.rlcoffield.com, orders@moonlightmesaassociates.com, amazon.com and Captain’s Nautical Supply. $14.95.
Coffield is also the author of the award-winning Life Was A Cabaret: A Tale of Two Fools, A Boat, and a Big-A** Ocean, and the award-winning suspense novel, Northern Escape,  and the newly released, controversial Death in the Desert.

CABARET STILL SAILING ALONG!

To the delight of author Becky Coffield, her first nonfiction work, Life Was A Cabaret: A Tale of Two Fools, A Boat and a Big-Ass Ocean is now in its second printing. Cabaret, Moonlight Mesa Associates number one seller, has proven to be unsinkable for a book in a small niche market.
The humorous tale has received rave reviews and is amusing both sailors and non-sailors alike.   “I think people just like to read about the foolish and fun things other people do,” the author commented when asked about the book’s growing popularity. “I think it’s hard to believe that we survived at all…and harder yet to believe we’re still married!”
Coffield’s other work, Northern Escape, has enjoyed steady sales in Alaska and the northwest.
The author’s newest work, You Can Conquer TMJ: Ideas and Recipes will be forthcoming in early 2007.   “I have a lot of hopes for my TMJ book. There’s a great need for it and a lot of interest in it. Everyone I talk to about the book knows someone with TMJ. I hope it helps a lot of people,” the author said.

Moonlight Mesa Associates Announces Dramatic Changes

Moonlight Mesa Associates is now trending exclusively toward the Southwest in their publishing and marketing campaigns.

"We will not be selling books in the great Northwest this summer, nor probably in any other summer for the foreseeable future," publisher Becky Coffield announced today. "We've sold lots and lots of books up north, but our future is now intricately tied with the Southwest considering that we are specializing in the Western genre only in our publishing enterprise."

This announcement came as a shock for some, considering the popularity of several of Moonlight Mesa's publications, such as the award-winning Life Was a Cabaret, the highly popular cookbook One Pot Galley Gourmet, and the award-winning Northern Escape. Two of these books were the first original publications of Moonlight Mesa Associates. "It's time to move on," the publisher said.

Indeed, the publisher announced she will be pulling all 800 remaining copies of You Can Conquer TMJ: Ideas and Recipes from outlets soon. "We've stepped on a few toes with this book. That was never my intention. We hoped to help people, but several have contacted me over the past few years upset about the tone of the book. This is not an over-reaction to those people. Honestly, you have to have TMJD to understand the pain involved. The sad fact is that for many, TMJ Disorder can never be conquered."

Moonlight Mesa Associates is preparing to release its first two western publications this fall: Saving Tom Black, a western/romance by Jere D. James, and Reflections from the Wilderness, by cowboy poet Stoney Greywolf Bowers. Both titles will be available by November. “Early reviews on both books are wonderful,” Coffield said, and working with both authors, editor Paula Silici, and cover designer Vin Libassi has been a great experience.

The publisher plans on producing at least three books for 2010, and possibly up to five. Because of a deluge of queries, the publisher will not be accepting any more queries until 2010.

Currently Moonlight Mesa Associates is hosting its First Annual Cowboy Up Short Story Contest. “The entries are fantastic! They are really exceeding my expectations. I’m glad I have five readers and a good scoring guide to use. It’s going to be tough picking the top three, I can tell you that!” the publisher said.

Submission guidelines for the contest are available at www.moonlightmesaassociates.com
The contest runs from June 1 to December 1. Entry fees are $15. Cash prizes will be awarded.
